I’m Certain One of My Readers Can Win! ‘Recycle Ike’

October 17th, 2008 · No Comments · Green Houston Events, Uncategorized

What in the World will the City of Houston do with all of it?  That is what I have been asking myself for the past several weeks.  That all can’t possibly go to the landfill?!  Right?

I should have known that the City would come up with a fantastic idea!  How about PAYING for the TOP 3 Best Ideas of how to recycle all of the tree debris?  With all of my amazing readers, I know that atleast one of you can win this thing.  :)

According to the Houston Chronicle, the City of Houston has 5.6 Million Cubic Yards of tree debris from Hurricane Ike.  Some of it is being sent to a local business to be chopped and sold as mulch but it is just not feasible to do all of it.  What the City is offering as awards for the Top 2 ideas is:

  • $2500
  • $5000
  • $10,000

They want the idea to cost little or even make a little money and even ‘Out of the Box’.   The deadline for emails is October 31, 2008 so you better get to thinking! Send your email to RecycleIke@CityofHouston.net or visit the website at www.RecycleIke.com
