Hi Donnie, I keep trying to make it down that way. I looked at their website some time ago and remember the stuff being really expensive…but they may have other stuff in the store.

I have building a new house, classic design and don’t know what kind of stairs to put in. Every body does oak but I’m not sure, would love to something more traditional with maghogany and painted wood but scared it will not to be to everyone’s taste.

My wife and I stopped by the just-opened One Green Street @ Buffalo Speedway and Westpark in West U. They have a bunch of green cosmetics, but I naturally don’t pay attention to any of that.

I assume you are already familiar with http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com? We used that recently to find options for all personal care products and as we use up things like shampoo we are switching to those products that have better “scores”.

The one point you made that really stands out is ALL home buyers want Green features – their requests for those features are just disguised as another term.

People are looking for energy efficiency – they want homes that are not going to cost an arm and a leg to heat or cool.

It is important as a realtor to be able to understand that consumers are looking to save money on the maintance of their homes and correctly interpret these desire usually mean they are looking for a “green” home.

These are some good tips. I especially favor the one about asking for past customers and paperwork illustrating the savings. These are both very important. I’m not too impressed with the self-certifications on the Internet. People will buy into anything! Just as you said, energy audits are rather scientific. You shouldn’t trust your home’s energy (and possibly your savings) with an Internet certification. There are respectable companies that can train YOU to become an energy auditor, but I don’t believe you should rely on what the Internet says to do – that is scary!
